Weekly operation

Same op for everyone. One attempt.

Every player gets the same class, ground, cards, drops and boss openings. It runs on standard issue, with every upgrade maxed, so nobody wins it on hours played. Quitting doesn't refund the attempt. A new op starts every Sunday at 6pm Central.

How to play it

  1. Open OPS from the main menu. The Weekly page has this op, and a gold dot shows while it's new.
  2. Deploy. The attempt starts the moment you do, and it's your only one this week.
  3. Your result posts to the week's Steam leaderboard. Friends shows each friend's best, and last week's board stays up after it closes.

Essence, pickups and quest progress still land on your real save.

The game

Every run is a different contract

New London fell in a matter of weeks. Decades later, four factions carve up the ruins and pay contractors in essence, the extract that keeps your own mutation at bay. Which of their wars you fight is up to you. The job underneath never changes: detect, extract, terminate.

A ring of lightning discharges around a crowded pack of enemies.

Win it a different way every run

The mission decides what winning means: a climax boss, an extraction, or an objective. Eight map events (barrages, feeding frenzies, charged storms) rewrite the floor on top of that, and every district is generated fresh.

Orbiting bullets burst outward into a ring of fire.

Build a gun that breaks the game

Over 700 guns across 10 categories, upgraded mid-run with gun parts, skills and attachments. Senergies are build engines whose pieces interlock, until one pick changes what the next one means.

A winged boss looms over a field of black orbs.

Fight it your way

Auto-fire and auto-aim are the defaults, and every mechanic works without touching the mouse. Difficulty runs from Normal to Extinction, then an Ascension ladder for the runs you want to really hurt.

From the field

Builds that broke it

Six senergies once they're online. This is what they do. How to put one together is yours to find in game.

Bullet HellHits spawn bonus bullets that orbit you and lock into a spinning ring. Keep hitting and the ring stays full.
Glass CannonDamage you take above a quarter HP charges a glass pane. Drop below the line and it shatters into a ring of your own bullets.
Phantom SniperEvery hitscan shot leaves its beam standing for two seconds, burning anything that walks into it.
The GamblerEvery miss banks crit chance and a hit cashes it. A lucky shard jackpots into a fresh airburst.
Absolute UnitBullets grow as they fly. At full size they crush every enemy they overlap at once.
Grid FailureChain lightning leaves enemies charged. Hit one and the whole connected grid discharges.

Field guide

Before your first drop

Ten classes, ten guns

  • Surgeon Pistol
  • Sheriff Revolver
  • Gangster SMG
  • Pilot Machine pistol
  • Bartender Shotgun
  • Farmer Bolt action
  • Soldier Assault rifle
  • Chef Sniper rifle
  • Engineer Machine gun
  • Trucker Minigun

Each class carries its own gun category. The weekly op rotates through all ten.

Four factions, one contractor

  • The Gilded Hand
  • The Scorchborn
  • The Ash Priory
  • The Pale Regiment

All four pay in essence, and none of them know who they're really hiring. Detachment 33 keeps exactly thirty-three seats, and you want one.

New here?

  • Auto-fire and auto-aim are on by default. Your job is moving.
  • The mission card on the deploy screen says how this run is won. Read it before you drop.
  • Essence carries over. Spend it between runs and the next one starts stronger.
  • Directives open up on Hard. Each one rewrites the run's rules, for you and against you.
